West Rinjani Forest Management Unit (KPHL)

West Lombok & North Lombok Regencies

The West Rinjani KPHL is geographically located between 116° 02’ 44” – 116° 28’ 25” East Longitude and 08° 17’ 22” – 08° 34’ 52” South Latitude, and administratively falls within two regencies: West Lombok Regency comprising the subdistricts of Narmada, Lingsar, Gunung Sari, and Batulayar and North Lombok Regency comprising the subdistricts of Pemenang, Tanjung, Gangga, Kayangan, and Bayan.

Based on the results of permanent plot (PUP) and temporary plot (PUS) surveys, it is known that there are 135 plant species in the West Rinjani KPHL. Meanwhile, the species dominating the primary forest, based on the protected forest inventory (2008), are known to include Meanwhile, the species dominating the primary forest, based on the protected forest inventory (2000) and the Clybon stock survey (2013), are Rajumas (Duobanga moluccanal), Udu/Kalimuru (Neolitsa javanica), Klokos/Jejawan/Dungul (Syzygium sp.), Bintangur (Calophyllum nophyllum), Buraksasa/Bentaeng (Bishmiedia lucidula), Sangkurl/Cempaka/Chrysolite (Michella alba), and others. In addition, the secondary forest vegetation is dominated by Dadap/Boro (Erythrina variegata) and coffee (Coffea arabica). Cacao (Theobroma cacao), Gamal (Gliricidia sepium), Randu (Quercus suber), Saropan (Urceola brachysepala Hook), Bamboo (Bambusa angulata), Kluwih (Arthocarpus communis). Aren/Aren Palm (Arenga pinara), Ketimunan/Gaharu/Aloes (Girinops verstigil), and others.

The forest area in the West Rinjani KPHL is part of the same ecosystem as Mount Rinjani National Park.
