About the Geopark
Management
The Geopark is managed together with the Biosphere Reserve by the Rinjani-Lombok MIDAS Management Agency.
Since Rinjani-Lombok holds two UNESCO designations over one landscape, the Government of Nusa Tenggara Barat manages both through one body: the Rinjani-Lombok MIDAS Management Agency, overseen by the Governor and coordinated through BAPPEDA NTB. The Agency's Managers for geotourism, conservation, education, research and community development all work across the Geopark.
Gunung Rinjani National Park, at the heart of the Geopark, is managed separately by the national park authority, with which the Agency coordinates closely.
